Dennis’ Story

I started on the path to becoming a painter when I was very young.  It started on Long Island NY with a childhood friend’s dad who owned a painting company.  He would allow my friend and me to tag along to jobs and “help,” even though when we were starting they had to go back over the areas we “helped.”  But it was there that I fell in love with painting.

Fast forward a few years and I was working with a company that did commercial work.  It was here that I learned more on refining my technique learning to paint quickly with all tools, from sprayers to a brush and roller.  After some time passed, I found myself wanting to learn to paint elegant homes.  It was in the pursuit of this that I met a man named Harry Palarino.

Harry is the man who made me the painter I am today.  It was at his right hand that I learned to prep a house inside and out and was reminded over and over again that painting is the easy part – but making it perfect is where you invest your time.  I worked by his side for six years and to this day remember all the lessons he taught me.  In 2001 I started Performance Painters and as we’ve grown we’ve learned more and more about painting, and have learned, and invented some unique techniques of our own.
